Natural "Tiger Balm" for colds and pain

A olive oil 70 21 gr
A beeswax 14 4,2 gr
B menthol crystals 5 1,5 gr
B arnica CO2 extract 1  10 drops
B eucalyptus globulus essential oil 0,5  5 drops
B cajeput essential oil 4,5  45 drops
B ravintsara essential oil 5  50 drops

Sanitize the dedicated containers and utensils you will work with, details in the general safety guidelines.

Preparation method:
Add the beeswax and olive oil to a heat-resistant glass, and place in a water bath until the composition melts. Remove from the heat source after melting.
Add the menthol crystals, mix until dissolved, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
The balm thus prepared is transferred to the dedicated container and left to cool until it solidifies.

It is a balm based on the original recipe of the famous "Tiger balm", formulated only with natural ingredients. It is especially designed to relieve pain and painful muscle contractions. It facilitates relaxation and release of the airways. It can also be used in case of insect bites or for massaging the back, limbs or temple.

Use and precautions:
Apply a moderate amount by massaging the affected areas. Avoid application to the eye area, on injured or irritated skin. It is not indicated for children under 12 years of age and during pregnancy and lactation. It is a balm with a high content of menthol and other compounds of essential oils with strong action but with irritating potential; perform a tolerance test on a small area of skin 24 hours before use.

Options:

  • instead of olive oil, you can use practically any other heat-resistant vegetable oil, such as: calendula, aloe vera, sesame, macadamia, almond, apricot kernel, rice bran, babassu oil ...
  • the original Tiger balm recipe contains approximately 10% menthol, we formulated the recipe with 5%; those who wish can use 10% menthol by reducing the percentage of olive oil to 65%
