"Venetian red" lipstick

Sanitize the dedicated containers and utensils you will work with, details in the general safety guidelines.

Preparation method:

Add half of the vanilla oil, and the rest of the phase A1 ingredients to a heat-resistant glass. Mix well until a homogeneous paste is obtained.

Add the rest of the vanilla oil and the ingredients of phase A2. Place in a water bath until the waxes have completely melted. It is advisable to use a thermometer to make sure that the carnauba wax is melted (requires approximately 80°C), otherwise the viscosity of the lipstick will be affected.

Remove from the heat source and quickly add the ingredients of phase B. Stir vigorously and then pour quickly into the mold and leave to solidify until the next day. Remove the lipstick from the mold and mount it in the lipstick container (see clip below). Details on how to work with the mold can also be found in its sheet click here.

An emollient, protective, intense and resistant lipstick. Contains shea butter, vanilla and castor oil.

Options and explanations:

instead of the recommended pigments, other pigments may be used depending on the desired color; matte pigments color more intensely compared to pearly pigments
titanium paste ensures optimal dispersion of pigments and provides coating power; it is possible to replace it with titanium dioxide + castor oil in equal proportions, provided that it is difficult to make at home a dispersion as fine as that of prefabricated paste; it is also possible to replace the titanium paste with zinc oxide + castor oil in equal proportions, in which case the coating power of the lipstick will be slightly lower and the texture may be slightly coarser; these replacements require a mortar with a pestle
vanilla oil can be replaced with another heat-resistant vegetable oil, provided that it contributes to the aroma of the lipstick; almond, apricot kernel, sesame, macadamia or aloe vera oil can be used
we do not recommend replacing the waxes used with other types of wax
instead of shea butter, another butter with a similar texture and hardness can be used; we do not recommend cocoa butter as it would require adjusting the other ingredients to obtain a lipstick with an optimal consistency
we do not recommend replacing or removing the lipgloss base in this recipe; reformulation would be needed to obtain a lipstick with optimal texture and consistency
instead of cinnamon essential oil, rose absolute can be used or it can be removed from the recipe; for aromatization you can also use an aromatic extract, for example: strawberry, pineapple, melon or apricot, with the mention that 5-6 drops would suffice
