Each portion of eyeshadow is prepared separately, in a mortar, with the help of a pestle.
Add the makeup base and the pigments to a mortar and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous powder with a uniform color is obtained. Homogenize with a pestle until the pigment particles are completely dispersed, and the color and texture of the powder are uniform. Part of the powder will stick lightly to the wall of the mortar and to the pestle, and it is necessary to remove it with a teaspoon to reach the base of the mortar, then mix again.
Transfer to the metal compartment:
Transfer the prepared portion of the eyeshadow to one of the metal compartments, distributing it as evenly as possible. Meanwhile, lightly tap with the back of the teaspoon, push the powder to the corners as well, then continue to fill the compartment until all the prepared powder is used.
A small part of the powder will inevitably reach the outside of the compartment during compaction, there is no problem, it is important that the entire portion of the prepared powder is transferred to the compartment; it will exceed its capacity, but after compaction it will reach the optimum level.
The silicone compactor plate is placed over the metal compartment filled with eyeshadow. Press firmly with the palm of your hand once. It is important that the plate does not move from the compartment. We move on to the actual compaction, which is carried out with both thumbs, with which we press vigorously several times the entire surface of the plate (if we press with just one finger, part of the blush can come out of the compartment). Lift the compactor plate off the blush and remove the excess from the edge of the compartment with a brush or a piece of napkin.
Placing in the box:
The compartment with compacted eyeshadow, cleaned on the outside, will be attached to the box with a patch of double-sided tape (supplied with the eyeshadow box). After the eyeshadow has run out, the metal compartment can be easily detached from the box, using a knife for example.
For the following eyeshadow portions, repeat the procedure described above.
Options and explanations:
If for a compartment, less than 1 gr of the makeup base is used, but a larger amount of pigments are used to obtain more pronounced colors, then the compaction of the eyeshadow can be weaker and the eyeshadow will be crumbly.
The degree of compaction also depends on the pigments used, some, especially the pearly ones, may have a weaker adhesion. In this case you can use 1 drop of vegetable oil (jojoba for example), olive squalane or coco-silicone.
In order to obtain other colors than those presented in the recipe, the choice of pigments will be made according to preferences, taking into account the type and intensity of colors. Matte pigments color more strongly, the diamond 29 mica pigment gives a shiny effect, the white satin 30 mica pigment gives a satin effect, the black 26 oxide pigment darkens the shade of other pigments.
