Moisturizing cream for children

Formula: 5008 - version A (with emulsifier Liqua)

Phase Ingredients for ~60 ml % Quantity
A coconut oil 18 9 gr
A cetearyl alcohol 2 1 gr
A emulsifier Liqua 3,5 1,75 gr
B flat mineral water 39,1 19,55 gr
B melissa water 30 15 gr
B Softdermo complex (Dermosoft) 4 2 gr
C xanthan gum 0,2 0,1 gr
D coconut powder 2 1 gr
D panthenol 1 0,5 gr
D lactic acid 0,2 0,1 gr

Sanitize the dedicated containers and utensils you will work with, details in the general safety guidelines.

Preparation method:
Add the phase A ingredients to a heat-resistant glass. Add the phase B ingredients, one by one, to another heat-resistant beaker.
Both glasses are placed in a water bath, stirring occasionally. When both phases have reached a temperature of 75°C, remove from the heat.
Pour phase B over phase A and mix (for 1 minute with the new mixer, for 3 minutes with the old mixer).
Sprinkle xanthan gum over the composition and mix for a few seconds. Place the glass in a bowl of cold water to accelerate cooling process, and continue to mix (for 1 minute with the new mixer, for 3 minutes with the old mixer).
Then add the ingredients of phase D and mix thoroughly.
The resulting cream is transferred to the dedicated container. pH: 5-5,5.

The result is a light, moisturizing and nourishing cream, with a subtle scent given by the floral water, coconut oil and powder, formulated especially for babies and children. It spreads lightly on the skin and leaves the skin neat, velvety. It can be used daily or as needed, both on the body and on the face.

Options:

  • a vegetable butter or another oil, such as calendula, apricot kernel, aloe vera or almond oil can be used instead of coconut oil
  • chamomile water can be used instead of melissa water; if another floral water is used, a different amount of lactic acid may be needed at the end, given the difference in pH of the floral waters; it is important that the pH of the resulting cream to be between 5-5.5
  • 3% of the flat water can be replaced with glycerin
  • for irritated or sensitive skin, 0,5% bisabolol/allantoin or 0,1% chamomile/marigold CO2 extract may be added in phase C, adjusting the percentage of water in phase B accordingly

Formula: 5008 - version B (with emulsifier Fluida)

Phase Ingredients for ~60 ml % Quantity
A coconut oil 18 9 gr
A cetearyl alcohol 2 1 gr
B flat mineral water 41,6 20,8 gr
B melissa water 30 15 gr
B Dermosoft complex 4 2 gr
B emulsifier Fluida 1 0,5 gr
C xanthan gum 0,2 0,1 gr
D coconut powder 2 1 gr
D panthenol 1 0,5 gr
D lactic acid 0,2 3 drops

Sanitize the dedicated containers and utensils you will work with, details in the general safety guidelines.

Preparation method:
Add the ingredients of phases A and B to two separate heat-resistant glasses. The glasses are placed in a water bath and the two phases are heated to a temperature of 75°C, in the meantime both are stirred from time to time.
Once both phases have reached the desired temperature, remove from the water bath.

The contents of phase A are added slowly over phase B, stirring in the meantime. Continue to mix for 3 minutes, avoiding the aeration of the emulsion as much as possible.
Sprinkle the xanthan gum over the composition and mix for about 1 minute. Place the glass in a bowl of cold water and continue to mix for 3 more minutes.

In the composition cooled to body temperature, the rest of the ingredients - phase D - are incorporated one by one, thoroughly mixing after each one.
The resulting cream is transferred to the dedicated container. pH: 5-5,5.

The result is a light, moisturizing and nourishing cream, with a subtle scent given by the floral water, coconut oil and powder, formulated especially for babies and children.
