Menthol crystals

With a typical strong peppermint odor, it is used in formulations for its analgesic, freshening and cooling effects.

Menthol crystals are naturally produced through peppermint essential oil extraction.

Ingredients: Menthol

Properties

• cooling and freshening effect
• used for inflammation and irritation
• soothing sensation of sunburned skin
• topical analgesic to relieve muscle pain
• its fragrance can provide relief to stress, anxiety

Applications, usage

• heavy legs, headaches, neuralgia, tense shoulders, contracted or painful muscles, areas or affected by itching, insects bites, contusions
• as ingredient in cosmetic formulations such as: balms, salves, creams, gels, emulsions, emul-gels, toothpastes, foot sprays, shaving creams, compresses, muscle rubs
• it is a powerful product, use sparingly
• recommended dosage 0,1- 1%, in general up to 5% for localized applications
• can be easily solubilized in slightly warmed fixed oils
• soluble in alcohol at room temperature, ratio 1 part menthol + 4 parts alcohol
• in emulsions can be added in the oily phase but it is indicated to be added after the heating

Storage: in a cool, dry place, protected from light, tightly covered when not in use; keep out of reach of children!

Cautions:

• irritating to eyes
• it is forbidden the use in children younger than 3 years
• it is not recommended for use in children younger than 6 years
• not to be used by epileptics
• it is not indicated for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
• cosmetic use
