Sanitize the dedicated containers and utensils you will work with, details in the general safety guidelines.
In a Berzelius beaker, mix the water and glycerin from phase A, sprinkle with xanthan gum and mix well. Leave to rest for about 10 minutes until the gel forms. The rest of the phase A ingredients are added to the gel.
Add the ingredients of phase B to another Berzelius beaker.
Place the glasses in a water bath and heat until both reach a temperature of 70°C, stirring occasionally. Once they have reached the right temperature, they are removed from the water bath.
Phase A is added slowly over phase B, stirring the composition vigorously. Stir for 3 minutes, avoiding excessive aeration and foaming along the way. To speed up the cooling process, place the beaker in a bowl of cold water and continue stirring for 3 more minutes.
To the composition cooled to body temperature, add the Cocamidopropyl betaine powder, mix slowly, thoroughly and leave to rest for about 10 minutes. If small lumps of surfactant remain, they will soon dissolve. Then add in turn the betaine, the fragrance oil and the preservative, mixing after each one. The composition is transferred to the dedicated container, the consistency will be finalized in the following days. pH: ~6-6,5
The result is a creamy and pleasantly fragrant shower gel, formulated with moisturizing ingredients and gentle surfactants, enriched with coconut oil and emollients.
