A zinc ricinoleate 3 1,5 gr

C Triethyl citrate 5 2,5 gr

Sanitize the dedicated containers and utensils you will work with, details in the general safety guidelines.

Preparation method:
Prepare the container first: after sanitizing and drying, grease the intermediary cap with a little caprilis oil and attach it to the body of the container. Then add the lid but do not close it as tightly as possible, to facilitate the opening.

Phase A ingredients are added to a heat-resistant glass and heated in a water bath until completely melted.
Mix the phase B ingredients and add this mixture over the phase A composition. Leave it in the water bath until it liquefies and the composition becomes uniform, stirring continuously.
Remove the beaker from the water bath, add the phase C ingredients one at a time and mix very well.
The composition begins to thicken, and immediately pour it into the container.

Pouring into the container:
The prepared container is positioned upside down, and the still fluid composition is poured through the hole in the base. Leave the container in this position for at least 4 hours, preferably until the next day.
Fix the corresponding small cap over the wheel at the base. Before removing the lid for the first time, place the deodorant in the freezer for a few minutes.
Remove from the freezer, carefully remove the lid and then remove the intermediary lid - which should not be used until the next pour into the container.
Tip: if the top of the deodorant stick breaks when the cap is removed, it can be attached back with a slight pressure and can eventually be pressed together with your fingers (with gloves).

The result is a deodorant formulated with recognized deodorizing and antibacterial ingredients. It is pleasant to apply, it is not greasy, it does not leave unaesthetic marks, it is soft, slippery and has a fresh scent. It has an interesting texture, similar to that of ordinary deodorants, in the sense that it looks dry but slips when applied and is easy to use. A plus in this formula is the volatility obtained without the addition of alcohol, which ensures increased comfort on the skin after application.

Options and explanations:

  • vanilla oil can be used instead of caprilis oil (very similar in texture)
  • for those with sensitive or irritated skin, 0.5-1% bisabolol may be included in phase C, adjusting the percentage of caprilis oil
  • the fragrance given by the combination of essential oils proposed in the recipe is a slightly herbaceous invigorating one; peppermint essential oil can be replaced for example with bergamot, petitgrain, ravensara aromatica or lime essential oil

  • Difficulty: beginner/advanced/experienced
