Properties

  • vegetable origin, olive based product
  • superior compatibility with the skin
  • improves the dispersion of powders in decorative formulations
  • improves the dispersion of mineral UV filters in sun care formulations
  • contribute to waterproofing by improving the resistance to wash off
  • can be used as a lipogel agent, functional lipid or co-emulsifier for o/w emulsions
  • froms a protective layer on the skin

Applications, usage

  • rich face and body creams, balms, ointments, diaper creams, massage creams, dry skin care, protective creams, colour cosmetics such as lipsticks and foundations, sun care formulations, anhydrous systems, lipogels
  • dosage as co-emulsifier for O/W 1-3%, as emulsifier for W/O emulsions, 5-10%
  • lipogel agent dosage 1-10%
  • anhydrous balms and ointments 10-20%
  • add into the oil phase, heat both oil and water phase to 70°C and then add the water phase slowly to the oil phase with stirring with a homogeniser or blender
  • emulsion needs 24 hours to reach its final consistency
  • optimum oil phase 50-70%
  • may need a co-emulsifier or a wax to increase the stability of emulsions


Storage: in a cool, dry place, protected from light

Cautions: do not ingest, keep away from children's reach; cosmetic use
