A precious natural extract obtained from the cistus plant (rock rose) used in fine perfumery for oriental and chypre blends. It is a rich and warm essence, with balsamic, resinous, woody, animalic and leathery notes.
The Cistus (Rock rose) plant - Cistus labdaniferus var maculate - also known as 'vegetable ambergris' have a characteristic amber odor, it is considered the only plant to have amber notes similar to those of ambergris.

The absolute has leathery and amber notes that are more powerful than in the resinoid. Has a profound and very tenacious aroma.
The labdanum absolute is obtained through ethanol extraction of the labdanum resinoid (concrete).
